Tuesday...

Can you believe it is already February? Today we continued our work on estimating quotients and dividing large numbers. In science the fifth grade students conducted an experiment on separating salt solutions. According to Mr. Smith, the kids did a fantastic job with today's lab. They have worked very hard on their listening and lab skills, as well as on participation. The fourth graders went to Mrs. Barnes for math where they also worked on estimating quotients. In science they started a new lab on magnetism called The Force. After lunch, we watched the CNN Kid's News and briefly discussed life in the Middle East (in Egypt in particular) and the political unrest and demonstrations in the region, as I believe we are watching history in the making. Please remember that Fifth Grade Articulation Night is Thursday @ 6 PM in the auditorium.
