Happy Friday!

Today flew by for the students. We took our spelling test first thing this morning because of our first Project LEAD lesson in the afternoon. Next, the kids went to Mr. Smith and worked on their social studies Powerpoints. Mr. Smith also told the students that he has tentatively scheduled a science test for Thursday or Friday of next week. During math, we continued our work around dividing to the thousands with 2 digit divisors. We also took a brief assessment to see where we are as a class when it comes to dividing larger numbers. During math and science, the fourth graders took an assessment online. After recess and lunch, we welcomed a District Attorney and a police officer. Our first Project LEAD lesson revolved around how our court system works. The children read a play, learned quite a bit about our legal system and asked many thoughtful questions. Finally, we went to WHEEL during which we had science, computer and engineering. The class did a tremendous job in engineering. Mrs. Ramirez was so happy and impressed that I thought she was going to cry :). She said it was an excellent way to end a long week. I did not send home a Friday Folder this week, but will do so next Friday. It's been a great week! Have a wonderful weekend.

Shout out goes to Daniel Cruz who is the first of my soon to be many thousands of blog followers (I'm sure:).
